In his new position, Akunbekov will be responsible for issues related to water policy, support for farming enterprises, as well as the development of processing and implementation of state programs in the agricultural sector.
Erlis Akunbekov, who is 42 years old, hails from the city of Osh. He is a graduate of Osh State University and the Moscow State University of Management.
As a private entrepreneur, Akunbekov heads the agricultural-industrial company ATS-Group and the association of fertilizer suppliers. In recent years, he has been actively working with farming enterprises, implementing modern management methods in the agro-industrial complex and supporting domestic producers. He is also the chairman of the Association for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Kyrgyz Republic.
