On the X platform, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling him a "foolish clown" and noting that such personalities have become tiresome to the world.
Araghchi stated that "Zelensky is robbing American and European taxpayers to enrich his corrupt generals, while accusing others of illegal aggression that violates the UN Charter. Moreover, he shamelessly calls for US aggression against Iran, which is also contrary to the same Charter."
"The world is tired of such talentless clowns as you, Mr. Zelensky. Unlike your army, which is supported by foreign forces and is full of mercenaries, we Iranians know how to defend ourselves and do not need outside help," the minister added.
At the same time, at the summit in Davos, Zelensky criticized Europe for its inaction in light of the brutal suppression of protests in Iran: "Europe offers nothing and is unwilling to support the Iranian people who strive for democracy. The unwillingness to help those fighting for freedom always leads to negative consequences, as was the case in Belarus in 2020."
According to media reports, former US President Donald Trump sent numerous ships to Iranian waters "just in case." "We have a lot of ships heading that way, just in case... I hope nothing happens, but we are watching closely," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
