In Bishkek, the possibility of purchasing tablets for high school students is being considered.

At a meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council held on February 6, deputy Tatiana Kuznetsova from the "Zhanı-Kuch" party raised a question about the availability of computers in the capital's schools.

She noted that computer science is studied until the 9th grade and inquired whether the educational process could be complete without computer equipment.

Rahat Musaeva, the director of the Education Department of the Bishkek City Hall, reported that the Ministry of Education has sent a request to provide high school students (grades 9-11) with tablets. She added that the necessary calculations have already been made and the information has been sent to the Ministry of Education. Musaeva emphasized that the amount for the purchase is significant.

Kuznetsova also asked whether electronic textbooks would be loaded onto these tablets.

In response, Musaeva confirmed that such an initiative is indeed planned.

Additionally, the department director reported that this year, 14 million 140 thousand soms have been allocated in the budget for the purchase of computers. All regions have already received laptops for teachers, and Bishkek will also receive its batch in the coming days, she added.
