In the schools of the At-Bashinsky district of the Naryn region, stable work is being carried out to provide hot lunches for elementary school students.

The correspondent of Turmush conducted an interview with Aksatbek Tölömüshovich Dıykanbaev, the head of the district education department, who shared details about the hot meal system for children.

According to Dıykanbaev, a sum of 14 soms is allocated daily for each student. Based on this figure, an approved menu has been developed that takes into account the needs of each schoolchild.

“Every week, students are provided with hot meals for the first four days, and on Friday they receive compote with a bun. Currently, we are not facing interruptions in providing hot lunches. All schools have the necessary conditions for organizing meals. We use what is called a prospective menu: it remains unchanged for one week and is updated the following week,” he said.

Dıykanbaev also noted that previously parents had to contribute additional funds for meals. However, after the New Year, in response to numerous complaints, this practice was discontinued.

“Many asked the question: if the government is already allocating funds, why should parents pay extra? As a result, school directors were instructed to cancel additional fees for hot meals. Now families of students in grades 1 to 4 do not pay extra for meals,” he added.

It is important to note that with the allocated 14 soms, it is impossible to provide full hot meals for all five days, so on one of the days, students are offered compote and a bun, while on the other days, they receive hot dishes.
