Among the schoolchildren who came from 40 countries, a 4th-grade student from the city of Kyzyl-Kiya in the Batken region, Bekkan Allaberdiyev, took 1st place.
In the international olympiad, aimed at testing logical thinking, analytical abilities, and deep knowledge of mathematics, Bekkan Allaberdiyev was the only participant from the Batken region.
According to his mother, Elnura Abdyldbasy kyzy, her son had previously also won prizes in mental arithmetic competitions held in Istanbul (Turkey) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
“My son Bekkan flew to Los Angeles on January 6 to participate in the international mathematics olympiad XCEL. He was the only participant from the Batken region. On January 10, he competed in the olympiad and took first place among students from 40 countries.
In March, he will participate in the olympiad in Singapore. He has had an interest in studying since the first grade. He is very passionate about mathematics and mental arithmetic and thinks very well. He is the oldest of my three children. He is 9 years old now. He is currently studying in the 4th grade at 'Light Academy,'” E. Abdyldbasy kyzy said.
