In the village of Chelpek, located in the city of Karakol, a special commission is working and warning the owners of buildings that are beyond the "red line," reports Turmush correspondent.

The explanatory work with the population involves the first deputy mayor of Karakol, Kubat Isakov, employees from the road management, water supply, architecture, the State Registration Service, and the local government.

According to Bakyt Baryktabasov, the head of the municipal enterprise "Road Management" of Karakol, it is planned to construct sidewalks along key streets of the village with a total length of 7 km.

“We are informing the owners of buildings on Asan Bulatov, Egemberdieva streets, and others that have crossed the 'red line.' Due to the presence of these buildings on the main streets, there were no sidewalks. Now, for the safety of pedestrians, a sidewalk 2.25 meters wide will be installed on one side of the road. We warn those who have fenced their plots and extended onto the road with structures such as sheds. They should remove their constructions in advance, as contracting organizations will begin work at the start of spring,” he added.

The sidewalks will be financed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and it is estimated that around 40 million soms will be needed to complete the project.

B. Baryktabasov also noted that similar activities are planned in all districts of Karakol. Buildings that occupy the roads complicate their maintenance, including grading processes. Narrow roads also hinder the movement of buses that transport passengers.
