Arthur Omurzakov, the chief engineer of the bus fleet No. 2 of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," spoke about the disciplinary actions against bus drivers and the handling of violations on the air of Birinchi Radio. He noted that in case of traffic rule violations or involvement in accidents, drivers lose all bonuses. Two commissions operate within the framework of incident investigations: a disciplinary commission that analyzes driver behavior and a technical commission that studies the damage and condition of the buses.
“Drivers are required to restore the buses at their own expense. If someone does not have the funds, they can submit a request to deduct the amount from their salary. A defect report is drawn up, and the bus is restored,” he explained.
In 2025, 144 drivers were dismissed from the fleet for various reasons. “If a driver runs a red light, it leads to immediate dismissal, as this is considered a gross violation. Although the disciplinary commission reviews the materials, the decision to dismiss is unequivocal,” Omurzakov added.
He also reported that regular meetings and explanatory work with employees are conducted, but some drivers continue to show dishonesty. “We have dismissed 57 people and added them to the blacklist. These drivers will not be able to reapply with us and will also face difficulties finding employment in other city services, such as 'Tazalyk' and 'Zelenstroy',” he emphasized.
According to him, the fleet applies only administrative measures, including dismissal, as the sole means of influence.
Additionally, the enterprise continues to conduct raids to check compliance with traffic rules and the proper approach of buses to stops. “As in the previous year, in 2025 we organized raids on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Over the year, more than 144 events were held with the participation of over 100 employees, including the transport department. The main focus was on busy stops, such as near the Osh market, where cars obstructed the approach of buses,” Omurzakov noted.
