Duyshenaly Toktakunov, who holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Drivers' Union of Kyrgyzstan, criticized the existing driver training system. At a meeting with President Sadyr Japarov, he noted that driving schools have provided only formal training for many years, which in turn has contributed to accidents, corruption schemes, and a lack of basic skills among graduates.

According to Toktakunov, there are 275 private driving schools operating in the country, where the training course lasts only 2-3 months, but the quality of education remains extremely low. Many students are forced to retake exams multiple times, and some continue to rely on unofficial methods.

He also pointed out that about 12 percent of drivers obtain licenses through corrupt connections, lacking the necessary knowledge and skills.

Toktakunov added that the new examination system is now entirely based on artificial intelligence, which eliminates the influence of the human factor and allows only those who are truly prepared to pass the exam.

At the end of the meeting, he urged citizens to actively support the reform in driver training.
