In Koi-Tash, at the base of the Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, an annual working group was held, gathering representatives from the U.S. Central Command, including the Air Force and the Montana National Guard, as well as Special Operations Command. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the military contact plan for the fiscal year 2027, as reported by the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

This event plays an important role in the development of military partnership and shapes cooperation plans for the upcoming year.

Over the course of two days, participants will detail future exchange activities and define common goals and objectives. Their joint work will be aimed at achieving regional goals that contribute to enhancing security and stability in Kyrgyzstan.

Deputy Chief of Mission Liz Zentos, in her welcoming speech, noted that the 30-year cooperation between the Montana National Guard and various structures in Kyrgyzstan, such as the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Border Service, has become the foundation of strong and trusting relationships. Since the beginning of the partnership in 1996, it has contributed to strengthening ties based on common goals.

“We look forward to the opportunity to refine our military contact plans for 2026 and 2027. This event is of great significance for strengthening mutual understanding and finding common interests,” said Liz Zentos.

Ongoing exchanges of experience and joint planning efforts underscore the commitment of the U.S. and Kyrgyzstan to ensuring security and stability in the region.
