Altai in the Era of Change. Archaeologists have compiled monuments in one catalog

Specialists from Altai State University have presented the first issue of a popular science catalog that highlights archaeological monuments related to the era of the Great Migration of Peoples.

According to the university, this publication covers one of the significant periods in the history of Eurasia, when important changes occurred — from antiquity to the Middle Ages. This period was marked by large-scale migrations, military conflicts, and the formation and destruction of major empires, which significantly altered the ethnocultural and political map of the continent.

According to Professor Nikolai Seregin, who is the leading expert at the scientific and educational center of Altai Studies and Turkology "Great Altai," the study of archaeological monuments from this period is a crucial direction in the work of scientists. In recent years, numerous monographs and scientific articles have been published, as well as major research projects have been implemented.

The first issue of the catalog includes materials on three necropolises located in the Chemal District of the Republic of Altai: Choburak-I, Ust-Biyke-III, and Karban-I. These monuments were studied at different times, and their results have been fully published in recent years with the participation of university archaeologists.
