In the city of Karakol, L. Tolstoy Street has been renamed in honor of a former parliament deputy.

In Karakol, the street named after Leo Tolstoy has been renamed to honor Abdysh Moldakunov. This decision was made at the XVI session of the city council.

Abdysh Moldakunov's son, Ermek Abdyshov, reported that his father, born in 1941, raised four children. He began his career in 1963 after graduating from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute and held various leadership positions in the transportation sector in the Issyk-Kul and Talas regions for many years.

For his achievements in the field of transportation, Abdysh Moldakunov was awarded the title of "Honored Worker of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic" and received numerous awards, including the badge "For Labor Distinction," presented by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

He was also repeatedly elected as a deputy of the parliament of the Kyrgyz SSR from the Issyk-Kul and Talas regions.

Abdysh Moldakunov was a personal pensioner and passed away in 2010.
