After the visit of the Minister of Health, tests in pediatric oncology are now conducted free of charge and without interruption

The head of the department of NCODM shared the news

As a result of the recent visit by the Minister of Health, the pediatric oncology department at NCODM now offers free and continuous tests for C-reactive protein and procalcitonin for all children. This was reported by the head of the department, Sultan Stambekov, in an interview with "Kabar".

However, some issues still require resolution. For example, to ensure the delivery of blood components, the department needs to allocate transport with a driver. Funding is also being sought to organize meals for parents who are with their children around the clock. The possibility of creating a boarding house for children from the regions is being considered, so they can stay nearby during the inter-cycle treatment period, which will help avoid complications and loss of medical control.

The minister's visit also contributed to improving the situation with the supply of vital medications.

"We held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health and 'Kyrgyzpharmacy'. Almost all issues were resolved within two weeks, and the necessary medications were delivered to the department. One can say that we have most of the medications. Some difficulties arise only in cases where specific drugs are not available from manufacturers. First-line medications are mostly provided," noted Stambekov.

As for second-line treatment, this involves high-cost technologies. These medications are very expensive, and in most countries, they often do not receive full government subsidies," he added.
