A set of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the Nipah virus has been launched in Kyrgyzstan. This information was announced by the Minister of Health Kanbek Dosmambetov at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
The minister noted that the republic is actively cooperating with neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, exchanging data and studying response protocols.
“A priority is the medical examination of students returning from India. The presidential administration has allocated funds to enhance safety levels. Modern automatic thermal imaging cameras are being installed at international airports. Currently, such equipment is operational at Manas Airport, but plans are in place to install it at the airports in Osh, Tamchy, Karakol, and other international air hubs in the near future,” added Dosmambetov.
He also assured that the current situation is under full control and there is no reason for serious concern.
