Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, has made amendments to the decree concerning the state monopoly on medical education.

According to the new provisions, private medical educational institutions that have passed accreditation can now enter into international agreements with universities in the USA to implement joint educational programs in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.

For reference, decree No. 250 dated August 28, 2025, established a state monopoly on the training of medical specialists, granting the I. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy exclusive rights to train specialists with higher medical and pharmaceutical education, as well as to provide retraining and professional development.

The decree also notes that private educational institutions that have the necessary infrastructure but do not meet licensing or accreditation requirements may conduct educational activities only in the format of preparatory courses or educational-clinical bases under the guidance of KSMU.

Additionally, the rights of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin within the framework of intergovernmental agreements remain unchanged.
