Anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan: a memorial meeting was held in Bishkek
Today in Bishkek, a memorial meeting was held at the memorial dedicated to internationalist soldiers, marking the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, as reported by the press service of the city administration.

The opening of the event was marked by the laying of flowers at the monument. Participants honored the memory of the fallen internationalist soldiers with a moment of silence accompanied by the composition "The Voice of a Lonely Woman." Then, a metronome sounded, followed by a three-volley salute in their honor.

Among those present at the event were Bishkek Mayor Aybek Junushaliev, Deputy Minister of Defense Almazbek Kulmurzaev, Defense Attaché at the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan Igor Dovbnya, as well as veterans of the Afghan war and representatives of the local community.

It should be noted that the war in Afghanistan was a heavy trial for many families and left a significant mark in the historical memory of the country.
