In Kazakhstan, special services have begun an investigation into Nurlan Saburov

Law enforcement agencies are not disclosing details yet

As reported by "RIA Novosti" from the National Security Committee (NSC) of Kazakhstan, an investigation is currently underway regarding stand-up comedian Nurlan Saburov.

At this moment, the details of the investigation remain confidential, and the agency clarified that information about the article under which the investigation is being conducted has not yet been disclosed, as reported by "Expert".

The Deputy Attorney General of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Koigeldiev, noted on February 11 that media reports about Nurlan Saburov's support for Russian military forces require attention and examination. He added that questions regarding a possible violation of Article 170 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, related to mercenarism, are under the jurisdiction of the NSC. The maximum penalty under this article ranges from 7 to 12 years of imprisonment.

It is worth recalling that on February 6, TASS and "RIA Novosti" reported a 50-year entry ban for Nurlan Saburov into Russia. The comedian learned about this upon arriving at Vnukovo from the United Arab Emirates. On the same day, he flew to Almaty.

According to sources, the decision to impose the entry ban into Russia was made in the interests of national security. The reasons included public criticism of the special operation, as well as violations of tax and migration laws. One of TASS's sources clarified that the entry ban was also based on a court decision to hold Saburov administratively liable under part 3.1 of Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for violating entry and stay regulations. The ruling on the penalty was issued in May 2025, and the duration of the ban can only be changed by a higher court's decision.

Nurlan Saburov is a citizen of Kazakhstan who moved to Russia after finishing school. During his student years, he participated in KVN and later became a resident of the Stand Up show on the TNT channel. Since 2019, he has hosted the program "What Happened Next?", which initially aired on YouTube and later on "VK Video".
