As of today, there are 68 museums operating in Kyrgyzstan, employing a total of 1,291 people. In 2025, 354 exhibits were restored in this sector, 2,200 units were added, and over 25,200 items underwent digitization.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov reported at a board meeting on February 19 that in 2025, the country's museums attracted over 1.2 million visitors.

Additionally, state ownership was enriched with four significant museums that were previously in private hands:

- The House-Museum of Alykul Osmonov in Bishkek;

- The Museum of Jusup Abdrakhmanov in the Issyk-Kul region;

- The Koshoy-Korgon Complex in the At-Bashinsky district of the Naryn region;

- The Art Gallery of Askar Salymbekov in the Naryn region.

Currently, the transfer of the Akyn Moldu Niyaz Museum, located in the village of Ak-Kiya in the Kadamjay district, to state ownership is ongoing.

“An open fund was created for the first time at the Sulaiman-Too museum complex, which serves to protect exhibits and display them to the public. Craft centers and four cultural and information centers accessible for self-guided visits and guest education have been organized based on three significant museums,” Nadyrbekov added.

The deputy minister also spoke about the "Month of Open Doors" campaign held last year, during which over 400,000 people visited the country's museums in one month.
