In the new issue of the "Our People Abroad" column, readers will meet Aydai Tashtankulova, who, along with her family, settled in Mirny, Yakutia.

Aydai was born in 1998 in the village of Chon-Örüktü, located in the Issyk-Kul region.

"Currently, I work in a kindergarten. I received my education at Bishkek Humanities University, my specialty is teaching," she shared.

After getting married, Aydai and her husband decided to go abroad for work to build a house. They had relatives in Yakutia, through whom they arrived in this cold region.

As Aydai notes, Mirny is a small town where you can easily walk to any place in the summer. However, in winter, the temperature drops to -40, and sometimes even to -50 degrees.

"It is much calmer here compared to other large cities in Russia, and there are many people of various nationalities living here, including many Kyrgyz. Unfortunately, there are almost no fresh products; most of them are stored in warehouses for a long time. The climate is also very different; there are no real four seasons here: winter turns into summer in just one or two weeks and vice versa," she explains.

If you have an official job, you can receive medical assistance for free. When our daughter was born, we received maternity benefits and allowances until she was 1.5 years old, which was a pleasant surprise for us, considering that we have Kyrgyz citizenship.

The family sends most of their income back home, where the construction of their new house is underway. They are looking forward to its completion so they can return.

The first months in Yakutia were difficult—they missed home and loved ones, but now they have gotten used to it.

This city has many Kyrgyz; you can always meet acquaintances in the shops. Kyrgyz specialists work in hospitals, schools, and universities, and among their compatriots, there are even large businessmen.

On weekends, the family spends time with their children, attends clubs, visits relatives, and goes for walks.

"In the future, we plan to return to our homeland and continue working in our professions," Aydai concluded.

She is raising a son and a daughter together with her husband.
