Citizens reminded of the seriousness of false alarms
The press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) reminded that false reports of bomb threats can lead to criminal liability, including possible imprisonment.
According to law enforcement data, places with large gatherings of people, such as shopping centers and educational institutions, are increasingly becoming targets for such malicious actions. What may seem like a harmless prank or a desire to disrupt classes actually poses a threat to public safety.
Every time a false alarm is received, special services must conduct a full evacuation, diverting significant resources from combating real threats. "This disrupts the normal rhythm of life for hundreds of citizens and leads to financial losses," the agency notes.
It is important to note that criminal liability under Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic arises immediately. For minors who commit such "pranks," the consequences are also quite serious: in addition to being placed on record, their parents may also be held accountable.
Experts urge parents to pay attention to their children's behavior to ensure that a momentary mischief does not lead to tragic consequences, including a real prison sentence, and to avoid acting thoughtlessly themselves.
