He calls on the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet to change the requirements for school uniforms
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the discomfort of school uniforms in the country.
In his opinion, although the uniform has its advantages, it is still uncomfortable for children.
“We receive numerous complaints from different regions. Schoolchildren from the Issyk-Kul, Osh, and Batken regions report that it is difficult for them to wear this uniform. It is uncomfortable in winter, and also not comfortable in summer,” Bekeshev said.
The deputy suggested that the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet of Ministers reconsider the standards for school uniforms, allowing children to come in t-shirts and jeans.
“Why do girls have to wear skirts? Who established this rule? This is undoubtedly a legacy of the Soviet past. At the same time, look at China, where children can wear sports suits, as studies show that such clothing is more beneficial for health. I am not insisting on sports uniforms, but let’s at least allow a smart casual style,” he expressed his opinion.
In addition, Dastan Bekeshev appealed to the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh to reconsider the dress code for deputies.
