The Ministry of Education has announced that this academic year, registration will only be for the first grade, canceling the practice of enrolling seven-year-old children directly into the second grade, as was the case last year.
Criteria for Admission to the First Grade
In the 2026/27 academic year, children will be admitted to the first grade if they:- were born between January 1 and December 31, 2019;
- as well as in the range from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
Stages of Registration
The electronic registration process will be implemented on a territorial basis.- The first stage will begin on April 1 at 10:00 and will include the admission of children registered at the place of residence of one of the parents or legal representatives in the microdistrict of the corresponding school.
- The second stage will start on June 1 at 10:00 and will allow the registration of children regardless of their permanent registration, subject to available places.
Class Capacity
The number of places in the first grades will be calculated automatically based on data on the number of students in the fourth grades from the previous year.The maximum capacity of one class is 42 students.
- If there were between 25 and 41 students in the previous fourth grades, the quota will be set based on the actual number;
- if there were fewer than 25, the school is required to open a class with a minimum of 25 places.
Required Documents
At the stage of electronic registration, uploading medical documents is not required. However, after enrollment, parents must provide the school with:- the original medical certificate of health status;
- a vaccination certificate.
Rules for Parents
If preschool-aged children do not appear in the system, parents should add them in their personal account or contact the call center of the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic.If registration is carried out by a legal representative, they must upload a document confirming guardianship or custody. They may register no more than two children in the system.
Parents or guardians can cancel a submitted application no more than three times. After the third cancellation, the ability to make further changes will be blocked.
Admission to School Regardless of Quota
There are cases when a child can be admitted to school out of turn or beyond the established quota.- Educational workers have priority for enrolling their children in educational institutions at their place of work, exceeding the quota.
- If one of the twins or children from a multiple birth is registered in the first grade, the others must also be admitted to the same school, which automatically increases the first-grade quota.
What to Do If Registration Deadlines Are Missed?
If parents fail to register their child in time, the issue of enrollment will be resolved by the Commission for Child Affairs based on a written application.Families who move during the academic year can choose schools with available places, regardless of their place of residence. Registration is done through the AIS "Kündölük".
Prohibition on Testing
Legislation prohibits conducting exams, tests, or interviews for admission to the first grade of municipal and state schools. Private schools may voluntarily participate in electronic registration.Responsible for Registration
