In Osh, the café "Eurasia" will be demolished — a building that has long been unused. Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev announced this on January 16.

Together with representatives of relevant services, he inspected the protective zone of the Zhekelik canal, which runs through the "Manas-Ata" management. Special attention was paid to the café "Eurasia" on Alisher Navoi Street, which is located too close to the shore and has fallen into disrepair.

As a result of the inspection, relevant services were instructed to quickly dismantle all illegal constructions located in the water protection zone of the canal and to free this area.

Other facilities located in the protective strip of the water artery were also checked. A decision was made to strengthen control over illegal construction in such zones.

According to local authorities, systematic monitoring of water protection zones and active measures against unauthorized constructions in the city of Osh are planned.

According to current legislative requirements, the width of the water protection zone of canals varies from 6 to 50 meters on each side. For example, the water protection zone of the Moyun, Zhany-Aryk, and Joo-Bas canals is 6 meters, while for the Ak-Buura River, this figure reaches 50 meters. The water protection strip of the Uvam canal is 30 meters on each side.
