The Mayor of Bishkek spoke about how his family deals with criticism on the internet

In his interview for the "Kabar" agency podcast, Aibek Junushaliev, the mayor of the capital, touched upon the topic of criticism and negativity that his family experiences on social media for the first time. He noted that such comments often affect his loved ones.

According to the mayor, many users leave unfounded and superficial comments, hiding behind private profiles and claiming to be experts.

“Sometimes you wonder if these people have their own relatives, in-laws, children? Yes, it affects me. But when I come home and see that my eldest daughter is sitting in the corner without any mood, I immediately understand that she has come across yet another comment about me on social media. It hurts her. People write all sorts of nonsense while hiding behind anonymity. But life is a boomerang, and all this will come back to them someday,” the mayor said.
He also emphasized that he is open to constructive criticism. “If real shortcomings are pointed out, I take it seriously. But when they start insulting without reason and get personal, that is unacceptable,” he added.

Aibek Junushaliev noted that he himself tries not to pay attention to negative reviews, as he knows the true state of affairs, but it is not easy for his family.

“I understand everything and try not to react. But my family doesn’t know the whole truth. It hurts me to see how my daughters' moods are affected by this. And when my wife reads another batch of hate and becomes upset, it’s hard for all of us,” the mayor confessed.
In conclusion, the mayor noted that overcoming any difficulties and pressure from the public can only be achieved through hard work and real deeds.
