In 2025, 10 workers fell from construction sites

The responsibility for incidents fell on both the workers of construction companies and the representatives of the Ministry of Construction.

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev drew attention to issues concerning safety at construction sites and the control over compliance with safety regulations.

He asked who is responsible for monitoring construction companies.

The Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services, Talantbek Imanakun uulu, responded that after the registration of facilities in the Ministry's registry, mandatory safety compliance checks are conducted. Logs are maintained at construction sites, and workers undergo monthly inspections and training.

“In 2025, more than 10 cases of accidents with various injuries were registered. All those responsible were held accountable. In one case, both the heads of the construction company and the safety officers, as well as our employees from the Ministry of Construction, were detained. As a result of digitalization, all construction sites are equipped with surveillance cameras, allowing for online monitoring of work progress,” the deputy minister reported.

Deputy Bekeshev noted that he is not interested in fines; it is much more important to care for those who have been injured. He cited a case from Osh, where a worker fell from a nine-story building during construction and became disabled, yet he is not receiving full compensation. The deputy emphasized the need for strict control over payments and adherence to safety measures at construction sites.
