Ministry of Natural Resources: In 2025, car owners were fined 202 times for 3.7 million soms for harmful emissions
The Ministry of Natural Resources reported an increase in air quality control.
In 2025, 202 fines totaling over 3.7 million soms were imposed on car owners in Kyrgyzstan for non-compliance with emission standards. This information was provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.
The agency notes that measures to control air quality and compliance with environmental and legislative standards have been significantly strengthened in the country.
In addition to monitoring the condition of vehicles, a ban has been introduced on the import, sale, storage, and use of bulk coal with a fraction of 0-13 mm in Bishkek and the Chui region. However, this restriction does not apply to enterprises engaged in the production of thermal energy. Programs for the gasification of the population are also being implemented, including the provision of preferential loans of up to 150,000 soms at an interest rate of 3% per annum (previously - 8%), which has already allowed more than 51,000 households to be connected.
