A woman has been invited to a meeting at the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek
Sultan Makilov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that the ministry has initiated a check based on the appeal of Asel Azamatova. She reported incidents of domestic violence by Jogorku Kenesh deputy Eldar Suimanov, as well as the inaction of law enforcement agencies.
As Makilov noted, Asel Azamatova has been invited to the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek to clarify the details of her appeal, including information about whom she contacted and when regarding her complaint. Based on this information, a service investigation will be initiated.
The press secretary added that if the allegations are confirmed, it will be difficult to hold the deputy accountable due to his immunity. In this case, the investigator is obliged to initiate a criminal case and transfer the materials to the prosecutor's office, which must then apply to the Jogorku Kenesh for permission to hold the deputy accountable.
It is worth noting that earlier, Asel Azamatova shared information on social media about systematic beatings by Eldar Suimanov and how the police did not respond to her appeals.
