Turmush — In the Ton district of the Issyk-Kul region, students held an event in honor of their teacher who tragically died during childbirth.

“We live in the village of Kök-Sai in the Ton district. My wife, Gülzat Mukanova, passed away last year during childbirth due to medical negligence. She held the position of deputy director at the local school. Despite her absence, the students she taught organized a volleyball tournament in her memory. I want to express my gratitude to the local youth: they took the initiative and raised funds to hold the sports event. My sons and I also came and participated in the memorial activities,” he said.
“A year has already passed, and those responsible for her death have not been punished: court hearings are constantly postponed. This is already the sixth hearing. When the doctors from the maternity ward of the Ton district, who showed indifference and failed to provide timely assistance, will be held accountable — no one knows,” Ulan Soodanbekov added.
