Since January 28, temporary restrictions have been imposed in Kyrgyzstan on the import of animals from India that may be susceptible to the Nipah virus, as well as on animal products. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the country.

The ministry noted that such measures have been introduced due to registered cases of the Nipah virus, which is necessary to ensure veterinary and sanitary safety in the country.

The Nipah virus is a dangerous zoonotic infection that can be transmitted from animals to humans. The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Development Service strongly recommends that citizens avoid purchasing livestock products from unreliable sources and pay attention to the presence of necessary veterinary documents.
