- Starting from January 28, 2025, the Veterinary Service for Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry will impose temporary restrictions on the import of animals and animal products from India. This decision was made following the detection of the Nipah virus and aims to protect the veterinary and sanitary safety of the country, as stated in the press release from the Ministry of Agriculture.

“The Nipah virus is a serious zoonotic infection that can be transmitted from animals to humans. We strongly recommend that citizens refrain from purchasing animal products of questionable origin and carefully check for the presence of the appropriate veterinary documents,” the message emphasizes.
