According to Tarik Jazarevic, the official representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), there is a possibility of further spread of the Nipah virus among humans due to the insufficient study of this disease. In an interview with RIA Novosti, he noted that "the source of the infection has not yet been fully established."
He also pointed out the presence of a reservoir for the Nipah virus in bat populations in certain regions of India and Bangladesh, including West Bengal, which exacerbates the situation. Jazarevic emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about the potential risks associated with the consumption of palm sap.
