In an interview with the publication 24.kg, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baysalov expressed confidence that the current president, Sadyr Japarov, will be re-elected for a new term.
Baysalov noted that under Japarov's leadership, Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating stable development, and the main strategic directions have been established until 2032. In his opinion, the course chosen by the president is supported by a significant part of the population.
“God bless, our people will once again choose their president. The important question is by how many percent this will happen: 75, 85, or 90?” he added.
Baysalov also reported that this year will be his last as Deputy Prime Minister within the current presidential cycle. He emphasized his goal to complete the initiated reforms, especially in the field of education, which he considers critically important for the country's future.
According to the official, reforms in the education sector will yield tangible results only after 15 years, and the full effect will be noticeable by 2050, when, as he believes, Kyrgyzstan must prepare “a new generation of competitive Kyrgyz citizens.”
