Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan resigns

Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu announced his voluntary resignation from the position of Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

Turgunbek uulu, who has held this position since 2022, noted that his work has always been aimed at the benefit of the country and the people of Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that he participated in important decisions for the state and does not plan to completely leave politics, remaining a deputy.

“I have never worked in the interests of individuals, only in the interests of the people. We must ensure political stability and learn to avoid intrigues,” he added.





Additionally, he noted that a delegation returned from Turkey yesterday and the visit was quite successful.

Earlier, there were reports of a possible resignation of Turgunbek uulu, which could have been initiated after his return from the trip to Turkey, especially against the backdrop of recent personnel changes in the government, including the resignation of the head of the State Committee for National Security and Deputy Prime Minister Kamchybek Tashiev.
