Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu has resigned

At the parliament meeting on February 12, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu announced his decision to resign.

He noted that this decision was made independently and was not due to external pressure.

“I do not think it is right to link my decision to specific individuals. I was elected as the speaker of the VII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh on October 5, 2022. Since then, I have tried to contribute to enhancing the authority of the parliament, as well as to the adoption of significant laws and decisions for the benefit of the Kyrgyz people and the future of the country,” he emphasized.

Turgunbek uulu added that political stability in Kyrgyzstan is maintained, which contributes to development and growth, and this is the merit of the team led by Sadyr Nurgozhoevich and the entire parliament. He also confirmed that he will continue his work as a deputy.

In the parliamentary elections last year, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu was elected from the №15 district, and on December 17, 2025, he took the position of speaker of the VIII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh.
