Elvira Surabaldiyeva, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, commented on the election of the new speaker and the current personnel changes in the country.
- Elvira Zhyrgalbekovna, what is your opinion on the change of leadership in the parliament?
- The new speaker was elected with the support of two out of five factions. I just returned from a business trip and came to the session where the candidate had already been determined. Marlen Mamataliyev has become one of the youngest speakers in recent times, and he promised to invest all his energy into the work. I am pleased that he represents my constituency.
- Many expressed a desire to see you in this position on social media, but the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported that you "preferred freedom." Is that true?
- I think the response was correct.
- How do you assess the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev? There are alarming rumors in society.
- I was abroad when all this was happening. I just returned late yesterday and today I am participating in the session for the first time. I am getting up to speed on the events, but I believe that everything will ultimately be resolved.
