In recent days, the political situation in Kyrgyzstan has undergone significant changes. President Sadyr Japarov dismissed Kamchybek Tashiev from his position as head of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), which sparked a strong reaction both among Kyrgyz citizens and beyond the country's borders. Tashiev himself expressed surprise at the president's decision on his page, noting that he had not been warned about his dismissal in advance. However, today, February 13, Japarov stated in the media that he had warned Tashiev by phone. Upon returning from Germany, where he was undergoing treatment, Kamchybek Tashiev did not request a welcome. His team reported that the general plans to hold a press conference to address the questions surrounding him.

Since the announcement of the press conference, many questions have arisen in society: will Tashiev continue to support the president, will he really not participate in the elections, and what is the truth about the letter from 75 elders?

In this regard, Kaktus.media gathered comments from well-known social media users.

Aybek Biibosunov, a journalist and author of a documentary about Sadyr Japarov, believes that Tashiev may head Japarov's election headquarters. He noted that he did not have time to ask the general questions at the airport and emphasized that the leadership of the headquarters should confirm their friendship and commitment to legality.
Lawyer Kanat Khasanov noted that society has two key questions: will Tashiev remain a loyal friend and ally of President Japarov, and will he keep his word about not wanting to participate in the presidential elections?
"Now we will see how important his words about loyalty and renouncing personal ambitions are," Khasanov added.

Ali Toktakunov, a journalist, questions potential candidates for the presidency and what role Tashiev may play in the future. He also emphasized that both sides should consider the experiences of their predecessors - Almazbek Atambayev and Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
Tologon Sulaimanov, a journalist, noted on social media that General Tashiev must demonstrate real rule of law at the upcoming press conference.
Activist Atai Beyshenbek shared photos on social media with political figures who confirmed that Tashiev's return from Germany dispelled many rumors about his future plans.
The editorial team of Kaktus.media is interested in how Tashiev assesses personnel appointments in the GKNB and the change of speaker in the Jogorku Kenesh, whether early elections are truly beneficial for him, and how he views repressive measures against journalists, activists, and businessmen. Additionally, will the rumors about a possible swap with Japarov in the next elections be commented on?

We remind you that on February 10, 2025, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree relieving Kamchybek Tashiev of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the GKNB.

Acting Chairman of the GKNB became Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, and three deputy chairmen of the GKNB were also dismissed.
