Money cannot be transferred, cannot leave: a number of officials have been banned from leaving Kyrgyzstan

The law enforcement agencies continue active actions in the fight against corruption

Recently, two high-profile figures were detained in Kyrgyzstan: Nurgazy Anarkulov, who previously held a position in the presidential administration, and the vice president of the Football Union, Kanatbek Abdykadyrov. This information came from sources in law enforcement agencies and was confirmed by various media outlets.

According to Kaktus.media, Abdykadyrov was apprehended at Manas International Airport when he planned to leave the country with the former head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev. However, he was not allowed to leave due to the presence of a watch card and was taken for questioning to the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after which he was released.

Nurgazy Anarkulov was detained while attempting to cross the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

So far, there have been no official comments from the authorities regarding these detentions.

These actions by law enforcement are linked to recent sharp resignations and arrests in the country, mainly on charges of corruption.

Recall that on February 10, President Sadyr Japarov dismissed the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as the head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, and his deputies.

After that, information emerged about the resignations of the heads of regional departments of the State National Security Committee and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, the head of the State National Security Committee department in Bishkek was detained on suspicion of corrupt activities.
