The new chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, stated in an interview with local media that there will no longer be any untouchables in government structures, including the GKNB. Anyone found guilty of unlawful actions will face legal consequences.
He commented on the recent arrests, noting that those who committed violations have already been dismissed and removed from the national security staff. The public will be informed about the legal assessment of their actions.
Shabdanbekov emphasized that the GKNB will continue its active fight against corruption and organized crime, using only legal methods, without the use of so-called "mask shows".

According to him, the reform of the GKNB will focus on modernizing security agencies so that they can effectively respond to contemporary threats. This includes improving operations in the fields of intelligence and counterintelligence, combating terrorism and extremism, as well as eradicating corruption and fighting organized crime. Other important tasks include preventing abuses within the structure, enhancing its prestige, and centralizing management to strengthen state power.
“We aim to create a structure that will be on par with the special services of other countries,” concluded Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov.
