Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to declassify UFO archives

President Donald Trump announced the start of the process to declassify government documents related to UFOs and the possibility of extraterrestrial life. This statement was made on his social network, Truth Social.

According to Trump, the decision is linked to the "growing interest" from the public regarding issues of alien presence. "I am directing the Secretary of Defense and all relevant agencies to initiate the process of identifying and releasing materials on extraterrestrial life and unidentified flying objects. These issues are complex but of immense importance," he noted.

Prior to this step, Trump criticized his predecessor, Barack Obama, accusing him of unauthorized disclosure of state secrets. He called Obama's recent comments about aliens a "significant mistake," although he did not provide specific examples of breaches of confidentiality.

As reported by Reuters, the disagreement arose from Obama's interview on Brian Tyler Cohen's podcast, where the 44th president jokingly remarked in response to a question about the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence that "they really do exist." He added that he had not seen secret bunkers or aliens in "Area 51." Later, Obama clarified on his Instagram that his words were based on the mathematical probability of life existing in the universe, and during his presidency, he had not received confirmation of contacts with aliens.
