
The presidential decrees established new ranks
According to information from the presidential administration, Sadyr Japarov signed a series of decrees that specify new military and special ranks for several high-profile leaders of law enforcement and security agencies.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ulan Niyazbekov, was awarded the highest special rank of police general.
The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, received the rank of lieutenant general.
The ranks of major general were awarded to the following officials:
- Akylbek Namazov, Deputy Chairman of the GKNB,
- Alisher Erbaev, Deputy Chairman of the GKNB and Director of the Anti-Terrorism Center,
- Tariel Otonbaev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic,
- Talaybek Sharshiev, First Deputy Minister of Defense,
- Talantbek Talipov, Commander of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic,
- Uranbek Shadybekov, Deputy Chairman of the GKNB and Director of the Cybersecurity Coordination Center of the GKNB.
The First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic, Malik Bekturganov, was also awarded the special rank of major general of justice.
