Gulya Kozhokulova called the work of the large staff of the Bishkek mayor's office useless

At a parliamentary meeting, Gulya Kozhokulova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, expressed the need to revise the approaches to the work of the Bishkek mayor's office. She noted that, despite the large number of employees, including four akims and various departments, many problems in the capital remain unresolved and cause dissatisfaction among the population.

Kozhokulova pointed out the frequent complaints from residents regarding public transport. According to the citizens, buses often do not meet sanitary standards, violate schedules, and behave on the road like minivans, which jeopardizes passenger safety.

The deputy also addressed issues of rational use of municipal property and unregulated construction. In particular, she mentioned the recent disputes surrounding construction near the TSUM, noting that the lack of information from city authorities about what is happening in the center raises doubts about construction oversight.

Furthermore, she emphasized the problems of preserving Bishkek's cultural and architectural heritage, as well as the poor condition of road surfaces in neighborhoods, where broken roads pose a danger to local residents.

Kozhokulova stressed that one of the serious problems is the lack of direct interaction between municipal authorities and citizens: residents cannot voice their complaints, and local government representatives are not eager to meet with the population.
