At a briefing in the Mazhilis, Serik Zhumangarin discussed issues related to Kazakhstan's participation in the Council of Peace. A correspondent from the Kazinform agency asked about Kazakhstan's financial contributions.
The minister noted that Kazakhstan has not yet made any contributions. However, according to him, the country is ready to provide assistance as part of stabilization measures, including sending medical personnel with field hospitals and grants for student education. He also highlighted the readiness to provide humanitarian aid, including food supplies.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the participants of the Council of Peace had raised 7 billion dollars. Zhumangarin added that the issue of a possible financial contribution from Kazakhstan has not yet been discussed at the Government level.
We remind you that Kazakhstan became a participant in the Council of Peace without making the mandatory financial contribution of one billion dollars, which is stipulated by the organization's charter as voluntary.
