Kazakhstan joined the Council of Peace without financial contributions

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Erlan Zhetybaev, reported that the country joined the Council of Peace without any mandatory financial contributions. This information is provided by a correspondent from Tengrinews.kz.

According to Zhetybaev, participation in the Council of Peace aligns with Kazakhstan's interests and corresponds to its foreign policy course, which is aimed at activating dialogue, supporting international security, and developing multilateral cooperation.

He noted that the initiative of the head of state is timely and aimed at achieving real and operational results. The President emphasized that peace should be built not on empty declarations but on concrete actions.

In response to questions about funding, Zhetybaev confirmed that Kazakhstan did not contribute any funds upon joining the Council. "Membership does not require a mandatory contribution. The voluntary contribution of one billion dollars mentioned in the charter is a right, not a condition for participation," he added.

Additionally, commenting on rumors about a possible deployment of a military contingent to Gaza, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged to refer only to official sources, emphasizing that it concerns humanitarian assistance.

"The President stated Kazakhstan's readiness to support international stabilization forces, send medical units with a field hospital, and observers from the civil-military coordination center," Zhetybaev added.

Kazakhstan is also ready to provide humanitarian assistance in the form of food, allocate 500 educational grants for Palestinian students in Kazakhstani universities for a period of five years, and share experience in the field of e-government.

It is worth noting that at the inaugural meeting of the Council of Peace in February, Donald Trump thanked the participants for their contributions to efforts to ensure stability and recovery in Gaza.

Trump characterized Kazakhstan as a beautiful and rich country while introducing the leaders of the participating countries in the Council of Peace.

Additionally, it should be noted that in January, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the charter of the Council of Peace, created at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Previously, Tokayev received an official invitation from Trump to become part of the newly established Council of Peace for Gaza, and Kazakhstan was offered the status of one of the founding states.

The Council of Peace, as envisioned by Washington, will carry out strategic oversight, mobilize international resources, and control the fulfillment of commitments for the peaceful development of Gaza.
