Indonesia has become the first country to threaten to leave the World Council
Indonesia has become the first nation to express its intention to leave the World Council established by U.S. President Donald Trump. According to official sources, the Jakarta government threatens to withdraw from the organization if it does not serve the country's interests.

Foreign Minister Sugiono reported that discussions regarding the situation in Gaza within the organization, where Indonesia plays a key role, have been temporarily suspended due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

“All activities have been halted as attention has shifted to events in Iran. We will also consult with our allies in the Persian Gulf, who are facing attacks,” he noted.

Indonesia is preparing to deploy 1,000 of its military personnel to the Gaza Strip by April as part of proposed multinational peacekeeping forces.

Following the start of the military operation by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, Indonesian authorities began to consider the possibility of withdrawing from the international World Council created for the peaceful resolution of the situation in Gaza. This was also reported by the chairman of the People's Consultative Congress, Ahmad Muzani.
