As noted by Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akmatov, this participation will provide Kyrgyzstan with the necessary legal support in the event of trade disputes on the international stage. The consultative center, which has been in existence since 2001, includes 97 countries and focuses on protecting the interests of developing states within the WTO legal framework.
This mechanism will allow us to effectively resolve trade disputes and receive expert assistance in protecting our rights.

The Deputy Minister clarified that a one-time contribution is required for membership, the amount of which depends on the level of economic development of the country. Kyrgyzstan falls into category "C," which implies a contribution of 43,000 Swiss francs (approximately 4.8 million soms). At the same time, Norway will make the actual payment as part of its support program.
During the discussion, deputies inquired whether membership in the center would help overcome trade barriers for the supply of Kyrgyz goods to Kazakhstan and Russia. The response from the representative of the Ministry of Economy was positive.
It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan became the first state among the CIS countries to join the World Trade Organization on December 20, 1998.
