It is worth reminding that on January 19, 2026, at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Budget, accusations were made against the company "Rikha" regarding possible violations of halal standards, as well as claims of a supposedly "revoked license." However, the company itself denied these allegations, which was also confirmed by the "Center for the Development of the Halal Industry." The Agro-Industrial Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic called for compliance with legislation concerning the manufacturer.
During the meeting, key points of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Halal Industry," licensing, and the procedures for declaring compliance of products with the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as subsequent certification for compliance with halal standards, were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to an incident that occurred last year when DNA from pork was found in "Rikha" products. To resolve this situation, a meeting was held on December 9, 2025, with the participation of representatives from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, the company "Rikha," and the State Institution "Center for Veterinary Diagnostics and Expertise," at the end of which the company took the necessary measures.
Repeated laboratory tests conducted in January 2026 found no DNA from pork in the products. As a result of the working meeting, the parties reached an agreement and confirmed the need for further cooperation to promote domestic products.
The State Institution "Center for the Development of the Halal Industry" also reported on the revision of the approach to certification in the halal industry sector. In this regard, necessary changes are being made to the Code of Offenses concerning the fight against fraudulent entrepreneurship and increasing consumer trust in halal certification.
