During the meeting, participants discussed key aspects of the Law "On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic," including licensing issues and the procedure for declaring compliance of products with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes certification according to halal standards.
Special attention was given to the incident related to the discovery of pork DNA in the products of the company OsOO "Rikha" last year.
To resolve this situation, a meeting was held on December 9, 2025, at the State Institution "Center for the Development of the Halal Industry," which involved representatives of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, OsOO "Rikha," and the State Institution "Center for Veterinary Diagnostics and Expertise," the Ministry of Economy reported.
As a result of the meeting, OsOO "Rikha" took the necessary measures. Repeated laboratory tests conducted in January 2026 found no pork DNA in the company's products.
All parties reached an agreement and confirmed the need to continue cooperation to promote local products.
