The Chairperson of the State Standard of Belarus, Elena Morgunova, announced plans for a comprehensive review of the technical regulation requirements within the EAEU. According to her, there are currently 52 technical regulations in force in the union, 24 of which were adopted back in 2011.

The long-term practice of applying these regulations has revealed the need for their updating, which is related to both technological advancements in design and manufacturing, as well as changes in the market. "The importance of considering modern risks and methods of assessing product safety cannot be overstated. This concerns both our safety and the health of future generations and the environment," Morgunova noted, emphasizing the necessity of updating the requirements.

The work on technical regulation includes both the creation of new regulations and the adjustment of existing ones. In 2025, amendments were adopted to several regulations, including "On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles," "On the Safety of Natural Gas," and "On the Safety of Perfume and Cosmetic Products."

Elena Morgunova also pointed out the need for a quick response to changes in the existing regulations. "This underscores the importance of a systematic and comprehensive review of all the technical regulation requirements of the EAEU. The assessment is planned for 2025-2030 and will cover 29 existing regulations," she added.
