On January 8, 2026, M. A. Kocherov, head of the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine, conducted an inspection at the border crossing points between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Despite the New Year holidays, an unscheduled check of the phytosanitary control operations at "Ak-Tilek" and the temporary storage warehouse "Kant" was carried out.
During the inspection, recommendations were given to the heads of the points for strict adherence to established regulations, as well as for strengthening control over the import and export of quarantine products. Special attention was paid to interaction with participants in foreign economic activity.
As a result of the inspection, M. A. Kocherov issued a number of instructions:
To respond rigorously to identified violations, including the return, destruction, or disinfection of agricultural products.
To take measures to prevent the import of goods that do not meet the phytosanitary requirements of the EAEU.
To ensure complete phytosanitary safety for the country, preventing the entry of harmful organisms into the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
