In Kyrgyzstan, there has been an increase of 14,669 new residents, while only 3,461 have left.

The recently published report by the Eurasian Economic Commission contains new information about the demographic situation, migration, and life expectancy in the EAEU countries titled "Demography in Numbers. Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Union."

According to the study, Russia continues to lead in population among the Union countries, with 146.1 million people residing there. Kazakhstan is in second place with 20.2 million, followed by Belarus with 9.1 million, Kyrgyzstan with 7.2 million, and Armenia with 3.07 million.

Life expectancy in the EAEU states is also increasing: in 2021, it ranged from 71 to 73 years, and by 2024, it is projected to rise to 72-79 years.

The urban population accounts for nearly 75% of the total number of residents in the Union, averaging 72.5 percent, while 27.5 percent live in rural areas.

In terms of migration, significant changes occurred in Armenia: in 2020, 36,577 people arrived in the country, while 33,203 left. However, in 2024, these figures changed dramatically, with Armenia welcoming 80,996 new residents, while only 2,527 left the country.

As for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, these countries are experiencing negative migration dynamics. In 2020, Kazakhstan received 856,319 people, while 874,037 left the republic. Kyrgyzstan welcomed 34,275 citizens that same year, while 69,136 departed, but by 2024, the situation improved: Kyrgyzstan's population increased by 14,669 people, while only 3,461 left.

Overall, the total population of the EAEU countries in 2024 is expected to reach 185 million 870 thousand 700 people.
