- During a recent meeting of the EEC Council, important decisions were made regarding the import of goods purchased by individuals on foreign marketplaces. This was reported by the Commission.
A duty-free import threshold for goods bought by individuals has been set at 200 euros, with the possibility of future revision.

If the purchase cost exceeds this limit, a customs duty of 5% on the total value of the goods will be applied, in addition to the nationally established VAT rate, but no less than one euro per kilogram.

Special customs duty rates are provided for certain categories of goods, such as cars.
A list of goods that must be declared without simplifications under the new rules introduced into the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU CC) has also been approved.

This list includes goods that cannot be considered personal items under the current EAEU legislation:

“With the adoption of this package of decisions, the Commission completes the creation of the necessary regulatory framework for the successful implementation of the amendments to the EAEU CC, agreed upon by the heads of state of the Union in December 2023, concerning electronic commerce issues,” commented EEC Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnev.

The new procedure is expected to come into effect on July 1, 2026.
